Full-Time Oyster Recycling, Workshop Associate, and Sustainability Enthusiast

Are you an organized, self-motivated, detail, goal-oriented, innovative, critical thinker passionate about the environment and conservation? Yes? Then this could be your dream job! Looking for a team player who prefers outdoor work capable of clear communication and conscious leadership.

Must be comfortable outside in the elements regardless of weather and able to lift 30 lbs buckets throughout the day. Common tasks include days outside sorting through shells, making restaurant pick-ups of oyster shells for recycling, litter pick ups, power-washing, painting, and quality control. An SUV or truck is a necessity and mileage is compensated.

Opportunities for cross training at our 478 King St artist studio are also available and encouraged for people working in this position to have a better understanding of the bigger picture of our supply chain. This includes painting, decoupage, packing, and shipping.

Requirements:

Eager to collect oyster shells in nature, from restaurants, and other locations
Passionate about recycling and preserving oyster reefs
Able to lift 30 lbs. You will be required to carry buckets and boxes of oyster shells on a daily basis
Enjoy being outside & must be comfortable working in the elements heat or cold weather, comfortable working in a warehouse setting and professional in our store settings.
Positive attitude and enjoy working in a team environment.
Must be reliable, organized and self motivated
Has a truck or SUV.
Down to get dirty. You will be collecting, pressure washing, and handling gritty oyster shells on a regular basis
Able to learn processes quickly.
Open minded and flexible around an ever-changing workflow based on weather and supply chain needs. .
Hourly: 40 hours a week, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday are mandatory work days since our shells must be processed on those days.
Able to work really early in the morning or later in the evening due to the hot weather in Charleston. This schedule is more flexible in the cooler months.
Reliable, collaborative team player, we are also looking for a team member that wants to grow with our company as we expand.
Starting pay is $15-$17 an hour with room to grow + a monthly $225 stipend for health insurance, paid time off after 6 months of employment, employee discounts, and reimbursement for mileage.
We are also open to training this person to work across departments in manufacturing and creating designs at our artist studio.
