Grit & Grace Studio News: 125 King Street Grand Opening

Friday evening had us singing Hallelujah and popping some bottles, and not simply because it marked the start of the weekend! The Grit & Grace Studio Grand Expansion Party kicked off at 125 King Street last Friday!

We'd like to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to all the friends, family, and community members who dropped by the celebration of our new space.

Our G&G family spent the evening surrounded by smiling faces and friends new and old, and it meant the world to feel so supported after the enormous amount of time, energy, caffeine, duct tape, and love that went into getting the Flagship ready to open to the public.

We could not be more excited to show you our new digs in this epic studio recap, and we can't wait to welcome you into the new store in person!

Scroll on down to check out the ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Mayor, some cherished moments with friends, and a sneak peek of our lovely new home in the historic Tellis Pharmacy building.

Grand Opening Recap

We've been makin' moves since we last introduced you to our new Flagship store location in the former Tellis Pharmacy. As you may recall from when we blessed the space, there was a dividing wall down the center of the room. She gone!

Today, the Flagship store is a light and airy open concept shopping experience with a central table for our upcoming Mala Workshops and other signature events.

With the help of magician/general contractor James Garner, we not only created an open concept store with beautiful lighting, but we also added sophisticated cabinetry to create accessible displays and executed a bathroom glow up to make any HGTV fan swoon.

After months of hard work, the Grit & Grace family kicked off the grand opening celebration a wee bit early with a well-deserved glass of champagne and enthusiastic toast!

We welcomed our guests through our doors beneath the iconic Tellis Pharmacy sign (you just can't mess with a classic). They were greeted by the G&G gals and the lively sounds of the Lee Barbour trio.

And is it really a party without a miniature tomato pie? Simple Provisions knocked it out of the park with their delicious bites.

We'd also like to thank Bottles for the lovely selection of beverages, and Mirabelle Bakery for the signature G&G cookies that were almost too pretty to eat (notice we said almost) and delicious cupcakes. And if you love fresh flowers, put Salt + Stem on speed dial. Thank you, Dani, for the stunning arrangements, as always.

We really got the party started, however, when Mayor John Tecklenburg officiated our ribbon-cutting.

As the mayor so aptly said, "King Street is alive!" and we are thrilled to be a part of the hustle and bustle of the historic district. We thank him for his time and words of encouragement.

Most importantly, we are filled with gratitude for the amazing turnout of friends, family, and Charlestonians.

Seeing our new space filled with so many smiling faces truly made the opening of this store a dream turned reality.

Everyone was so warm, welcoming, and supportive; it made the long nights, aching feet, and hard work absolutely worth it. As we've always said, "No grit, no pearl" and you are our pearls, sweet friends.

Your incredible support of our small business helped us ride out the waves of last year. As a company, we've emerged stronger, filled with gratitude, bonded through sisterhood, and anchored in hope.

Your patronage touched the households of more than 15 families, and together we've now recycled more than 7,000 gallons of oyster shells back to our local oyster reef restoration projects.

Our work in the community has just gotten started, however, and Grit & Grace Studio remains committed to giving back to the city and people who have guided us through rough waters.

We are so excited to share our beautiful new Flagship store with you; please visit our fabulous new location at 125 King Street! We would love to meet you and help you find that perfect gift or chat with you about hosting you and your loved ones for a Mala Workshop.
