The Moms of Grit & Grace

Let's take a moment to celebrate the MAMAS out there!

With Mother's Day only a few days away, we're giving extra love to all the expectant mothers, new moms, working mamas, supermoms, grandmas, dog moms, and mama bears.

(Are you a little behind on your shopping this year? We've got you. Visit our Flagship store for fresh flowers and thoughtful gifts, or schedule a facetime personal shopping experience!)

We are blessed to be surrounded by so many incredible, nurturing mothers on the Grit & Grace team. Their strength, patience, grace, and super-human ability to multitask inspire us daily. Their guiding light and gentle touch is one of the things that make the Grit & Grace family such a loving and special space.

As we celebrate all the mothers in our lives, Grit & Grace Studio moms have generously shared their time, hearts, and motherly wisdom for today's blog post.

From our family to yours, Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to the G&G Moms

Mary Beth is a ray of sunshine. This veteran team member is one of our in-house calligraphers, a gentle guiding force, and our voice of reason.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from being a mom?

The most important thing I’ve learned from being a mom is to always have an open heart full of love, understanding, and patience. I’m always there for the situation, eager to listen, comfort, and help.

What is one of your favorite Mother’s Day memories?

My favorite Mother’s Day memories are getting to spend time with my precious daughters, having sweet thoughts of my loving mother, and just enjoying being called “Mom.”

To me, being a mom is one of the greatest gifts in life, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Forever grounded and graceful, Ali is a calming force at the center of our creative whirlwind. In addition to working as a production artist, Ali makes Mala Necklaces, helps develop workshops, and is the designer behind Alma, her own line of necklaces.

How does your family celebrate Mother’s Day?

I love to be surprised, so I let my family plan the whole day for me. We usually start with a family outdoor activity, usually spending time at the beach. We then have a big Mother’s Day lunch at home, and I get pampered by the kids with their sweet hugs, flowers, notes, and gifts. We play games, watch movies, and laugh a lot. Mother’s Day helps me create a stronger connection with my family and a foundation based on love and unity.

What’s one life lesson you’ve learned from your children?

The biggest life lesson I’ve learned from my kids is not to take life too seriously and live every moment with passion and an open heart. This lesson helped me be a better mom, wife, and friend.

Simultaneously both the most fun person we know and an incredibly grounded individual, Traci works with team development and growth. This mother of five brings good vibes and warmth to every situation.

How do you celebrate the other moms in your life?

The best way to celebrate the other moms in my life is to remind them how amazing they are!

Being a mom is the greatest gift and the hardest challenge. Supporting each other and sharing the highs and lows is how we roll!

What is the best Mother’s Day gift?

Love. Pure, unconditional love. The love I feel for my children is beyond measure. That love is the foundation of all that I am and all that I do.

Soon-to-be mama Bethany is kind, uplifting, and an incredibly talented artist. She's one of the brilliant painters behind our custom-created Gilded Oyster Shells, and her beautiful work is a shop favorite. Bethany, we are so excited to join you in welcoming your bundle of joy this month!

You’re expecting your first child (congrats!). Does Mother’s Day feel a little different this year?

Yes, it does! It’s a little sweeter. I feel grateful and humbled to get to be a mom, and it also makes me appreciate my own mother more.

How did you celebrate when you found out you’re becoming a mom for the first time?

I told my husband as soon as he got home, and then we went out to eat.

Did you get dessert?

I actually don’t think we did; we were too full for dessert!

Gail has been a Grit & Grace team member since 2018! Ever a quiet force of nature and warm friend to all, it's been a pleasure to share in so much of Gail's journey, including her pursuit of passions, marriage journey, and becoming a mother. Her adorable toddler, Bear, is chief quality control officer for all new baby products that pass through our store!

How has becoming a mother changed your life experience?

Prior to having a child, I was a stubbornly independent person. I believe motherhood is trying to teach me that our dependence on others is a beautiful and vital quality of life.

What’s a favorite memory of your own mother or grandmother?

I have a plethora of wonderful memories with my mom and grandmother. It’s this one giant blurred image of sunshine and good food.

One memory did just jump to my mind of when my grandmother snuck me from my house during my “nap time” when I was a child so that we could go on an adventure instead. I probably thought of this because my son won’t go to sleep right now, and I’ve debated letting him escape his crib.

Celebrate the moms in your life or book Mama's day out by gathering your tribe for a Mala Workshop. During this transformational, inspiring experience, you'll experience a guided meditation, set your intentions, and enjoy tea service before creating a Mala Mantra Necklace.

The Mala Mantra Necklace pays homage to Buddhist prayer beads. Our one-of-a-kind custom necklace will help center you during your meditation practice and ground you as you move through your day. Our team would love to tailor this incredible workshop to honor a special someone or time in your life.

One Love & Blessings,

The Grit & Grace Family
