Shop Momma! There is seldom a day when Mary Beth is not in the front of the studio with her paintbrush and a ready smile. She laughs, chats, and is the patient hand behind some of the most intricately painted shells in our collection.
Gail
Gail is an original part of the family who assists with all things shipping! Her son, Bear, can be seen wandering the store and bringing all the cuteness. Gail enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.
Jeni
Welcome Jeni to our family of mermaids! Jeni is an incredibly hardworking, upbeat, and energetic team member, and we are so grateful for all the ways Jeni is increasing our awareness of the hearing impaired experience. We love you, Jeni!
Clayr
Hallelujah for our studying marine biologist! Clayr works the outdoor field of the studio, helping us to keep our shores clean, collect shell, and teach us facts about the bivalves we work with everyday. Her curious, bubbly approach to nature and life is inspiring.
Alexis
Alexis is one of our production artists and our Farmer’s Market manager! You can find Alexis making beautiful pressed flower jewelry, hand-painting one-of-a-kind oysters, hanging out with her five cats, or overall just being a pretty awesome person. Her warm, bubbly personality is a joy to have around.
Reese
Passionate, hardworking, and hilarious, Reese is the heart and captain behind the blog, an editing goddess, and a brilliant photographer and content creator to boot. She burns the midnight oil and always comes up with the most creative ideas. Reese, we love ya!
Elisa
Hailing from the mountains of central Pennsylvania, Elisa is a beach and nature lover. Her artistic eye has been a constant in her rich, diverse background, and her love of the ocean inspired Elisa’s personal Mala necklace!
Shelley
A native of Charleston, Shelley is a creative and positive addition to the Grit & Grace Studio family! When she's not gilding oysters and making us smile, Shelley enjoys researching music of all genres, from jazz to rap!
Em
Em is one of our production artists that brings the perfect amount of spunk to any occasion! You can catch her helping out at the Farmer’s Market and enjoying all things Charleston. This lovely lady is a fun-loving wildflower who you can’t help but admire.
Pearl the Oyster Recycling Truck
Honk if you recycle! Pearl Around Town is our sweet vintage ride that transports us around the Lowcountry. Pearl hauls oyster jewelry dishes to our favorite retailers and oyster shells from local restaurants for our oyster shell recycling program.

This talented artist is the hand behind all the oyster paintings in the downtown studio, as well as all the amazingly beautiful mermaids! We are so lucky to have June as part of the studio’s special pieces.
Traci
Our structure queen! Traci works with team development and growth, making all new employees feel at home. She’s also a newly certified yoga instructor and mother of five! Traci brings good vibes and warmth to any situation. She is our calm in the storm and simultaneously the most fun person we know.
Ali
Ali is our Brazilian, cat-loving beauty who infuses love into our hand-made Mala Necklaces. Hailing from Rio De Janiero, she keeps the Grit & Grace family full of the spice of life. Whether she is guiding you through your own Mala experience, creating her own beautiful African Glass Bead Necklaces, or being a super Mom, Ali shares her light wherever she goes!
Kelly
Kelly is super sweet and fantastic with paint-pouring for our Gilded Ocean Oyster Dishes. Kelly grew up in the Charlotte, NC area, but fell in love with Charleston’s warm winters when she came to visit us in December several years ago. We are excited to see where she grows with us!
Bailey
Bailey rocks every single role that she plays at Grit & Grace. She is our production manager, a production artist, a master gift wrapper, and helps out with sending our handmade goodies to their new homes! Bailey does it all while also being one of the best humans we know. We love you, Bailey!
Bethany
Bethany is one of our very talented production artists! Bethany can wrap any gift to perfection, and she makes sure to send everyone off with a smile when you check out! She is the epitome of the word kind and never fails to uplift the people around her.

Hailing from Tampa, Florida, Laine is one of our talented production artists. Laine loves capturing Charleston's quaint charm and architecture in her paintings. This smiley and outgoing artist is also a future elementary art school teacher!
